Posted May 8, 200618 yr comment_166562 I tried using search but nothing came up.Has anybody blacked out their tail lights and have a picture of it? Or does anybody know HOW to do it. I've been toying with the idea because I'm blacking out my chrome and going for a really clean look (no emblems etc.).- Ian. May 8, 200618 yr comment_166574 Well, generally darker makes things look LESS clean. Personally I would take the lights apart and clean them properly so they look as bright as possible... not just because I think it would look better but for safety reasons too!!If you still want to go for it, I believe you can get a spray-on tinter made for this kind of application... I don't know, never looked into it. Maybe another member here could help, or you could always try a "JDM Honda yo" forum or something.. May 8, 200618 yr comment_166585 yeah you simply buy a spray can that has tint stuff in it, i've done it on my side markers as i didn't like how much they were standing out and one day want to get them welded out of there so no biggy. for brake lights i woudlnt recommend it as you can get defected for it and possilby void your insurance, i've heard a story about an insurance company not paying up because the driver had their lights tinted so the car behind didn't see them brake, + on a 240z the rear lights are sexy anyway, on a 260z i think tinting can look quite nice as pictured another way i heard from a honda owner is to put a stocking on the inside, so you can easily remove it...i was thinking of puting one over the reverse lights in my 260z then tinting some spare lenses i have lying around but i can't b bothered and the ones i have in there have been cleaned so looks nice Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19952-blacked-out-tail-lights/#findComment-166585 Share on other sites
May 8, 200618 yr comment_166592 On the last ozdat WA cruise there was a blue 2+2 with blacked out tail-lights. didnt look too bad. i wasnt behind him so i dont know how dull or colourless the globes were! My boss did it to his mini... tuned greenish when the lights were on... I was considering it, but i ended up painting the facias black so it would look too black Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19952-blacked-out-tail-lights/#findComment-166592 Share on other sites
