Hello, I am looking at buying a 1975 280z, I am asking to see if his price is correct. The int, has no carpet, torn seats, but a good dash, the body is all primer, but it has a crease in the fender, the body as no rust, all it need is to be painted. The Engine is a RB20DET, with 47000 miles, the transmission is the same milleage with a two week old stage 3 clutch, he is asking 4K is this price right? Thanks alot.

I really dont know, I dont know how much a nice looking 280 sells for, and Im not too sure on the price of the RB swap and labour that has been put into it. I mean 4K sounds good to me, but im also judging this with little background info on other RB swapped cars.

I would contact Rob Fuller at Z car Garage. He is an RB specialist. He could tell you....IF the motor is in good shape and the body has no rust, I would say it is worth it....figure paint and body will run at least 4 to 6k for a professional job, then ask your self if you have a 10K car....

I would second this suggestion. Rob can be reached at (408) 452-0300. Don't waste your time e-mailing him. He is too busy to be likely to reply. I would expect that if the RB is installed in a professional manner that that would be worth the asking price alone. I do not have any hard facts on that, just that any time you ask what it cost to someone who has done any kind of later year engine swap on a roadster or Z they just roll their eyes and sigh.
