The OEM mirrors (Nissan part number 96301-E4600) are still available through the dealer, what you see everywhere else is with a markup. The last one I bought was around $65-last year-currently 67.10 plus shipping from Pinnacle Nissan.

Thanks William. I believe you're right. I wonder if there is chrome under that crappy paint? I guess I'll find out since I was planning on re-painting them at some point. Maybe I won't have to. The chrome might look nice. Or perhaps I'll just get a new set of chrome Talbots.

Paint usually does a great job protecting chrome.

I didn't realize this until I saw this ad on eBay. Were these the mirrors that came on the Black Pearl? The label on the box indicates that these were standard Datsun accessories and the seller says they were purchased in '78 as "racing" mirrors.

I remember the Talbot mirrors being called "Bullet" mirrors. Is that right? And yes, I remember them chrome.

Those appear to be the mirrors that were available at the dealer as an option back in the 280 and maybe 260 days and if so, they were the same ones used on the BPE and the Zzap. My car has them. The original owner says that they came with the car as did the rear louver and rear spoiler. Many of the dealers would 'dress up' the cars. That's how cars like the famed 'Seattle Z-hawk' came to be.
