Posted May 11, 200618 yr comment_167219 Hello everyone! I just recently purchased the car of my dreams, a 1974 260z. Now i'm here. Most people don't appreciate the Z car tradition, so I figured a Z car forum would. This is my second car. My first was a 1981 Accord hatch. It was a very cool car, but my new one is way cooler. so, about my car. It has a 4 speed, all stock engine, still has the cat, has an HKS Ti Hi power muffler that I put on, and an aftermarket bodykit that I am selling. The only problem with the car is the driver side fender, headlight bucket, and the front bumper is broken (fiberglass.) The thing that was coolest about the car is that I got it for 600 dollars, and drove it home. Well, let me know if you want a bodykit. May 12, 200618 yr comment_167233 Whereabouts in Oklahoma are you? There's a great Z club there that meets in Tulsa and OKC. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20015-oklahoma-z/#findComment-167233 Share on other sites

May 12, 200618 yr comment_167289 The OK Z club has a website and meets monthly in OKC and in Tulsa. http://www.okzcc.com/ There also used to be a Datsun heavy junkyard at South May auto salvage on May avenue between I-40 and I-240 on the west side of the street. Don't know if Bob is in business any more though. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20015-oklahoma-z/#findComment-167289 Share on other sites
May 12, 200618 yr Author comment_167292 Sweet. My friend has a '86 Z31 Turbo, so we are going to go to a meet at that club now, just to see what its like. If there are any V8 swaps, I'm leaving. May 12, 200618 yr comment_167301 I wouldn't use the V-8 excuse as a reason not to participate in the club. The core membership of the club is 1st-2nd gen L-series owners who started it 10 years ago. I would bet there are alot of 350 owners too since it came out a few years ago. The focus was on fun when I was a member but thats been about 9 years ago. May 12, 200618 yr Author comment_167336 V-8 swaps aren't that bad, but I'd take a the six over the eight any day. What kinds of things did you do in the Z club? May 15, 200618 yr comment_167517 The club was in it's infancy when I was a member so I think they're a little more active now with more members carrying the load of organizing...hopefully. They ended up hosting the National Convention in like '98 or '99 in Tulsa and average 2-3 car shows a year, a trip to Hallett and a couple of cruising events every year. If you don't mind going to Tulsa every other month, that'll probably drive up the number of events you could participate in. I think they judged the Branson Z-fest car show here not too long ago. The events calendar on the website would have more details as to what they're up to these days.
