ES Hyperflex bushing kit?'s

Recommended Posts

The front end link bushing pack that's in the ES set has the bushings but what is the bolt for? The cupped washers are useless since they aren't fixed to the bolt. If you look closely at the link in the pic the metal between those two sad looking bushings is badly worn. The rear links will be probably be just as bad. MSA has them for about $13 each. Anyone know if these are avilable at a local parts store?

the 2 brass metal sleeves in the pack act as spacers between the cupped washers to stop the bushings from just sliding around.

AFAIK washer against the bolt head, bushing, control arm, bushing, washer, sleeve, washer, bushing, sway bar, bushing, washer, and then nut.

someone who has used these might have a better response.

The bolt is to replace the stock unit you have show in your picture. If you prefer to use the stock piece with integrated inside washers, ditch the bolt and two washers, then use the rest of the new stuff.

Here's a text base rendition of how to hook it all up.

"=" represents the sleeves

"-" represents the bolt

"(" & ")" represent the cupped washers

"||" represents the swab bar and and transverse link

"O" represents the new bushings

--(O||O)==(O||O)--

I concur. What he said. Please use the grease (lithium, I think) they supply. Apparently some folks who forgot it/omitted it have horrible squeaking noises as the PU rubs against other bushings or metal. I have had no problems with my bushing set while using the supplied grease....
