I've recently come into a little bit of money, so I'm seriously considering spending it on a set of Watanabes. They're a bit pricey, but SOOOO COOL! I'm gonna ZG flare my car, since it has a little rust above on of the wheel wells anyway, and Wabbies would look awsome. Help me justify this purchase!

No . You used the word " Wabbies ", you blew it.

RS-Watanabes fit the S30 so well. If RS-Watanabes are the wheels that you want, you will not be satisfied with anything else. I've been there and done that. Once you get them, you will start telling people that you have this old Zcar for a set of Watanabes. Z's with overfenders (ZG flares) and wide Watanabe wheels have a presence that not many cars have. They give these cars an aggressive stance that is paralleled by very few. This is not to say that there are not other beautiful wheels for the Z out there.

Here are pictures of Zcars that I have taken with Watanabe's. I prefer the 14" wheels, but most do not. If I were to put overfenders on a Z, I would go with 14 by 10j in the rear, and 14 by 9j in the front. The smaller diameter still allows for four piston brakes. Plus, the 14" deep Watanabes look more aggressive with the fat side wall, and they appear even deeper than they are. I would get all gunmetal with no machined lip, but that is just me.

Keep us posted. I hope you do get them. I have Watanabe's on my Z and they are great. They are light, well made, and very unique to the Z.

That green is EXACTLY the color I'm looking for. Is theat british racing green?

I was looking under yahoo images on Monday and there was a website that i stumbled on to that someone had set up with all the original z'd colours. I know the image I clicked on was a green 240 or 260z under these 2 catagories. So good luck.

Little known fact of the day:

While you'll often hear the term "British Racing Green," a color by that name does not exist.

British Racing Green stems from old GP races when each country had to have a specific color to identify the cars easily. Japan, for example, is (was) white.

Any English car was then painted green, and shades varied widely. From bright to nearly black.

There is no specific shade of green called British Racing, although it's up to individuals to decide what to call green.

I don't deny the existence of BRG, only the existence of a specific shade.

BBC Top Gear even ran a feature on racing colors, and also indicates that BRG as a specific color does not exist.

Technically, any racing done on international circuits, buy British cars, required them to be green...but you could see several different colors of green on the track at one time, all of which would be called British Racing Green.
