Hello friendz

I am thinking to refresh bushings and wondering that

OEM vs urethane which is better ? I mean not only performance but durability and cost etc... My car is stock condition. Dose anyone compare these ? Is all stock bushings are available from Nissan ? Give me some advice.

Thanks

:)

i installed the energy suspension hyper flex kit on my 280 about 3 years ago. havent thought about them since. the kit has everything but the sway bar mount bushings.for comparison reasons the kit ran $220 in the u.s. and the bushings were all black if your worried about retaining a factory appearance. i have to say that the outer control arm bushings were a serious pain to replace. i torched out the old ones, pressed in the new ones and nearly ruined the pivot bolts installing them back into the bushings. maybe check courtesy nissan for factory bushings, i do recomend the polyeuretthane bushings and will use them again in future projects. good luck with yours

I replaced the rubber bushings with poly on my 77 280. It's a daily driver and the poly works fine for me. I cannot compare them to the stock rubber because I only drove the car with worn out rubber bushings in which the ride was pretty sloppy. No vibration or noise for mine.

Hello,

I have mixed experience with new bushings.

I replaced most of them on my street car. But later I changed the mustache bar bushing back to OEM. (>140 $ ) due to the noise.

I'm not happy with my urthean steering coupler too. I believe that he will cause some vibration in my steering at 80mph. But unfortunatly I do not have the old one anymore.:stupid:

Cheers

The steering coupler (I have the abs one) will increase the vibrations and jolts from the road but the feel is great IMO, I feel everything on the road through the wheel to my hands. All the suspension bushings will increase the feel of bumps and the sound of the bumps too. If you are into a better ride and a quiet ride with less vibrations then the stock bushings are for you. I do not think you would notice a handeling difference for unspirited street driving over the stock bushings either. With out some sticky tires and agressive driving they will not do much for you.

I mixed my setup. I have rubber remaining at a single point in each corner of the the suspension. The rest is urethane. It is tight, and plenty stiff. Mines a daily driver, with new stock springs and KYB struts. Frankly I think the best upgrade I installed was the Suspension Techniques sway bar kit. It made a world of difference. I've always contended that the Z lacked good sway bars.

What exactly does this mean? Can you describe what you did?

I've always contended that the Z lacked good sway bars.

I doubt that has ever been disputed.

I also mixed mine up. I wasn't smart enough to buy the complete kit, I bought them individually. :stupid: My car gets driven maybe once a week so my selection process was based upon what was less expensive, the rubber or the urethane version. I bought the less expensive part and I'm happy with the ride.

Good luck with your cars.
