no gas...

So I replaced my flat tops on my 73 w/ round tops and now I am getting absolutely no gas. I was getting gas before the swap, but now NOTHING. I tore apart the fuel pump and it appears to work fine. Manual operation proves to me that I am getting sucking and blowing. Sorry for lack of technical terms. I put it all back together and still nothing. And yes, there is gas in the tank.

Any ideas before I go completely insane?

Tx,

Bill

Question , why did you go to the fuel pump when it was OK with the old Carbs ?? Popdaddy is right , look at the screens in the banjo fittings , all so if the carbs you installed have been setting for a long time the float valves maybe be stuck closed . Gary

I just rebuilt the SU's and can only assume that if the gas is not pumping, then the fuel pump is broken. I am guessing that I have a broken fuel line somewhere, but not sure how it could happen by simply sitting the garage.

Bill,

If you had a broken fuel line, believe me, you'd know it.

Is fuel getting to the in line filter ????? If not, look for cracks/loose clamps on the hoses.

If so, check the brass screens in the banjo fittings.

Check the float valves and make sure the pistons are free and oil levels are correct.

Apart from ensuring that the carbs are tuned properly and not flooding, I can't think of anything else off hand.

Rick.
