2003z Posted May 22, 2006 Share #1 Posted May 22, 2006 Best in show, ZDAYZ 2006 this weekend!Although its mostly 350z's there, more and more early cars are coming out now, and every year, its been a 1st gen. car that has won best in show! Its a people's choice car show, so it shows that even if the old school guys dislike the 350z's, at least the 350z's appreciate our old ones. TomoHawk Posted May 22, 2006 Share #2 Posted May 22, 2006 Good one Vicky and Scott! IMO, it's easier to really go all-out on an S30 than the 350, which has so much junk, tubing, wires, etc. You can't even see the inner fenders! And never mind about the interior. And that's why an S30 has all that much more potential ( like a artist looking at blank canvas). I like the stuff you've done!!! I would also like to see a 350 stripped down to the bare minimum under the hood. or anywhere else.

Zrush Posted May 22, 2006 Share #5 Posted May 22, 2006 Thanks all. It was a great time an lots of beautiful Z's. Weather was great. Many beautiful 350Z's and G35's and I expected one to win since that's who was represented. I agree it's nice that a old Z can compete with a new Z. The dragon was awesome too!!!! Quite different then our flat, straight Florida roads. Met some great Z friends.Scott

26th-Z Posted May 22, 2006 Share #8 Posted May 22, 2006 So where the hell are the pictures? How many cars were there? Where's the write-up? Of course an old Z can compete, Vicky. I mean, we're talking Zrush! Congrats. Way cool.
2003z Posted May 23, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted May 23, 2006 So where the hell are the pictures? How many cars were there? Where's the write-up? Of course an old Z can compete, Vicky. I mean, we're talking Zrush! Congrats. Way cool.402 people in attendanceI cant remember the exact number of cars, but it was between 230 and 275One 350z from the detroit club went off the side of the mountain a day or 2 before the event, and one 300zx got ran off the road and down a 15ft dropoff on saturday. Both drivers unhurt, 350z totalled, 300zx minor damage. There were probably about double the number of attendees who showed up on thursday or earlier this year, as compared to other years. You really do need friday to go driving. We didn't get to take a group photo by the dam this year after the show due to rain. There were numerous parties each night, with the highlight probably being Doug Stewart from Crawford Z car service and his gasoline powered margarita blender. He always has it, but this year on saturday night, they loaded up the truck with people and went from cabin to cabin with it on the roof of the truck. olderthanme Posted May 23, 2006 Share #10 Posted May 23, 2006 there we go... one crazy Z33 this Z belongs to 240hoke on Hybridz...front end frame 100% rebuilt from the firewall forward and replaced lots of floor pan... Z32 with a 383 I got to the scene of the wreck after the guy was out of the car but before the police were there. I heard he drove the car after they pulled it out. either before or after the show...during the show they did not allow mixing of z33s and older Zs
Dtsnlvrs Posted May 23, 2006 Share #11 Posted May 23, 2006 BTW guys there were two original owner 240Zs in attendance. The driving was awesome, and the company was great. Congrats to all the winners, esp Zrush. What a beautifully prepared car, and great folks to boot. Thanks to everyone there for the hospitality. I even had an offer for someone to babysit my 2yo co-driver so I could really attack the dragon....Alex would have nothing of it and wanted to slay it himself. What a blast. Pics coming soon as I get home.
