Posted May 22, 200618 yr comment_168332 I am after a GT-R replica that's hiding very close to Santa's factory, in Finland!!!!!!!Just in case I ever take this car down to my place, I am checking for engines options!I still have my 240Z engine, a L28 with the usual combo F54/P90/3 carbs… I understand that I would need to deal with the oil pan… I think I can do it but it’s not a bolt and run thing. So option 2 could be… A RB25 with… 3 carbs! You guys from down unda’ have anything like that on your roads? I think I saw this set-up one day on a Japanese web site but where????? I don’t want 400 hp but a strong 250 would be good enough for the old mule and in sync with the original concept. May 23, 200618 yr comment_168477 snip So option 2 could be… A RB25 with… 3 carbs! You guys from down unda’ have anything like that on your roads? I think I saw this set-up one day on a Japanese web site but where????? G'day Fred, A few years back a guy in Australia did retro engineer an RB20 with webers and distributor and put it in a 1973 Skyline KGC110 fastback. Here's a link to some pics.RB20 in a 1973 Skyline. He still owns the car. RockyAuto in Japan seems to specialise in this conversion. Here's a link Rocky Auto Japan Sakijo's friends' site is quite informative. His english is a lot better than my Japanese! (non existentLOL) I appreciate his efforts as when time and money allow it I hope to do a similar conversion. RB25de twincam head on an RB30 short motor similar to the attached pic. (no silly bl##dy turbo thingies ) . This would also mean bigger better brakes, gearbox and supension....bigger bank account first I s'pose:rolleyes: ..Hey!I'll get there!....you gotta have goals eh! Do you have any pics to show of the car in Finland Fred? How did you find it!? (nosey critter ain't I?! :nervous: ) Cheers :classic: Jim. May 23, 200618 yr comment_168507 Caen Fred, is that the lilac/silver car that has painted bumpers? Please take care! That one is not so much GT-R replica as GTR badged. About the only JDM bit I noticed was the tail lights! It looks like a nicely presented car though, just make sure you know what it is.An RB-engine without turbo or EFI junk would be fantastic. Cheap power, and you don't have to lose that fabulous "oldschool" sound!! Top notch. May 23, 200618 yr Author comment_168511 Yes it's this very car, I know it's a fake... But the car is going to Kuwait anyway! So it's back to my Z (could be worse). The price was kind of high for an old car... But it's a rare old car, very rare in this condition and I think that it sum equal with the price of a restoration... 6500€ Still yhe RB could go in my 240Z:bunny: :bunny: BTW how do you know this car??????????????????
