today I pulled most of the wiring out of my Z...pulled everything from the seat foreward...fusebox...dash harness...all of it. I am pulling the rear harness tomorrow. Also I sepersted the ignition harness from the main bundle and got most of the alternator/power wiring seperated...it went from driving this morning to being gutted of all of the wiring...I am rewiring everything from a single plate of aluminium with one bundle of connectors. It will be professional looking too. no ghetto rigging!!! The current harness has enough of that.

I removed around 25 pounds of stuff from my Z that is never going back in...I have pulled so much weight out of this car. I must be down towards 2300 right now...

1 right after removing the dash harness

2 everything removed behind the 944t

3 the ignition wires seperated

4 the mess after ignitionis seperated

5 harness in a box...anyone want one? ready to hook up everything from your extra torque bands, blinker fluid, and brake light fluid.

:-D

No problem....I have replaced all my lights with LED's so Z it would not have hurt to leave them on as they draw almost no power, however thanks for shutting them off. Also thanks for the compliments on my car....as we speak, I am in the middle of replacing the tranny with a late 5sp, thanks to deficiencies I learned on the Dragon.

aha...I have my rear tail lights in LEDs now...everything except backup lights. Now I am redoing every ecectrical system with new wire. I bought like 500 feet of grey 14ga. wire so I am set. I also have some thick stuff too.

I have just left my lights on at work before and come out at the end of an 11 hour shift at midnight and found my car dead as a doornail...got it jump started though.

it works fine and is identical to the MSA setup...just parts made by a different company...I just got the QA-1 springs from summitracing.com for like $38 each and got the threaded collars from A-1 racing...it is MUCH cheaper to buy individual pieces than to buy the MSA kit... I could build the MSA kit with real camber plates for 3/4 the cost...and that is just buying from full price retailers like summit and A1...I think you can have techno toy tuning camber plates for like $350 and the rest of teh coilover setup is like another $360...you save a hundred bucks right there. Much less if you have a contact within O'reillys or Summit to get good prices.

I just stopped using MSA when I discovered you could get the toyota calipers for like 50% of the price that MSA was selling the solid rotor brake "kit" for...it was just some calipers and brake lines...I felt so ripped off.
