i am tryin to get into the z world and am a newbie at best. First things first i am looking for a decent 75-79 280z with little rust as possible. i really admire this car and have driven one once and have been hooked ever since. if anyone has one for sale or can get me started on the right path looking for one i would really really really really appreciate it.

Ebay brother, or check the classified section of the website.

A little-rust car will not be cheap if you buy it from someone in the know. Your best bet is to find one on Ebay or the newspaper that is owned by someone who inherited the car.

Expect to need to fix any Z you buy, rust wise. Even if there's hardly any rust, it'll build up before you know it.

Welcome!

If you update your profille, so other members know in what area you are living, it would be easier to give you pointers. Also, the members for the most part are an awesome group of individuals who may just accompany you to your next Z viewing.

That said, I have found Craigslist to be a good resource for parts and even whole cars, look at these:

Actually, don't look at the last one, I might be interested in that one!!ROFL

You also may want to consider "local" car listing sites that work by zipcode.

For example, I found my 280z on carsoup.com, 'might be worth looking into if you're in a close enough zip.

You can also try autotrader.com, cars.com or beepbeep.com ...

Be careful though, sometimes these sites don't have "280z" listed as a Datsun model, though they often have 280zx, which is a different car. Be aware of this.

Furthermore, if there's a local Z-owners club for your state or province, you could also try seeing if they have any "private" classifieds for their members.

Good luck!
