KDMatt Posted May 24, 2006 Share #1 Posted May 24, 2006 Hey folks, can somebody help me out?Earlier today as I was working inside the wheel-wells replacing my bumper ends I noticed that someone (probably the crazy 2nd P/O) had completely, cleanly, "snipped" all of the wires from the yellow side-marker lights on the front-end of my car.Can somebody please find me the correct diagram for this and/or tell me where everything should connect to?...Oh, and it might be helpful to know what gauge wire to use. Thanks!
Zak's Z Posted May 24, 2006 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2006 Matt,Try here: http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/electrical.htmIt has the color wiring diagram and should sort you out. As far as guage goes, I would use what the originall harness has. Zak
Zs-ondabrain Posted May 24, 2006 Share #3 Posted May 24, 2006 not sure on the 280Z but it's usually like this...Black is groundGreen w/ white stripe is parking lightsGreen/red is turn signal If there are three wires, one is ALWAYS a ground. One is parking light (turn on the parking light and find that wire. You get the idea.Wiring is pretty damn basic, even in a 76'. Just use the "process of elimination"Hope that helps,Dave. KDMatt Posted May 25, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted May 25, 2006 Thanks for the help Dave, Zak.Part of my question also has to do with the function of those fender-signal lights... are they identical in function to the turn-signals that face front?I just want to make sure that when I get 'em wired up I know they're working correctly. Arne Posted May 25, 2006 Share #5 Posted May 25, 2006 Part of my question also has to do with the function of those fender-signal lights... are they identical in function to the turn-signals that face front? No, they are the same as the parking lights. They do not flash with the turn signals. (At least, not as wired by the factory.)
