Radiator Source

Don't know what your setup will be, but a 3 core radiator from a 260Z is more than enough cooling on my '73s. I drove one home, about 675 miles in August at 104 degree temps (freeway driving) with absolutely no trouble at all. Good luck!

MSA sells six different four core new radiators for 244.95 one to fit all models.

I like Bryan have never had problems with my three core. I have changed mine a couple of times over the years and will do the same this spring. Mostly because it is coming apart still cools okay but, don't want to catch the loose cooling fins in the fan either.

I am going to be changing my radiator on my '73 in the next few weeks (original for an MSA) and would like to know if 1) there are problems that I'm not thinking about with the mechanics of the swap or 2) things I should be doing while the radiator is out.

For a car that is over 30 years old, if I was going to go so far as to replace the radiator, I would probably replace the entire cooling system, unless I knew its history. (This is not rhetorical, I will be doing exactly this later this year.) Mine will get a new 3 row radiator, new water pump, thermostat, all hoses (incl. heater hoses), hose clamps, temperature sending unit, and heater control valve. In my case, I will have the heater core checked at a local radiator shop, and repaired or replaced as necessary.

Bill

I was at a local Advance Auto the other day and was quoted 167.00 for a rad. I'll call just to make sure but I think that was right. I'm having overheating problems and that is close to the top of the list to change next.

I have done the thermostat, rad cap, and the clutch fan next is to look at a new clutch fan not a used one like I got.
