Motivation!!

Bite the bullet and put some gas in the tank and take the Z out for a drive ! That should rekindle the interest . If your car is down for repair or being redone , keep your eye on the prize . Take it one day at a time. My Z was down for just about 3 years , I know what you are going through. Gary

Do some performance mods!!! It got me motivated again, and it doesnt have to be expensive. I put on a muffler and eliminated the resonator (cost $175 at my local shop, KarCraft in Rutland, MA if youre close to there, they do very good exhaust work) and put in urethane bushings. The difference those two things made in handling and sound (no performance increase with the muffler that I could feel) got me motivated. Hang in there!!! LOL

Here's some that help me stay motivated. Trying to get my car (last video, Mat M is my copilot at the end there) into the same league the first two has taken me a couple years so far, and it looks to be another year or so before I get to drive it again at this point.

Simplest motivation of all...Wash it and get whatever paint you have on it looking nice and shiny.

Heck...if you're not going to do much with the paint for a while....polish and wax it.

Unless all you have is primer and burnt and peeling paint, that is all the motivation you'll need.

And if that' doesn't work....then you're done, sell it and go find a Yugo.

RAIN ! YOU WANT TO TALK RAIN ? TRY 33 DAYS IN A ROW AND 50+ INCHES A YEAR . LOL I know what you are saying , it gets old . Especially in the spring after we have a few beautiful sunny days. I just put a hundred miles on in my 240 in the driving rain a couple of days ago and yesterday spent a couple of hours cleaning her . She is ready for the Canby show , if I can make it. I just need to touch up the polishing on the valve cover. While my Z was apart , I did spend some time just sitting in it , mostly by my self and some fun times with my granddaughter. She just turned 4 yesterday. She helps me wash the Z too. So If you cannot drive the car enjoy it even if means just looking at the great styling and shape of this classic beauty. Just let it soak in that she is yours. LOL Gary
