SDU has some horrific inaccuracies in it's "History" page. Such a shame, especially when a major local import performance magazine uses said page as a base for a GT-R history article and thusly helps spread the ignorance to a non-Internet fan base.

Brilliant. Just, Brilliant.

All you need to do is create a login and start correcting the mistakes.

If you have a look at the page history:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nissan_Skyline&action=history

you can see how the page was built up over time, and see the old versions and the usernames of the people that edited them.

I'm no expert on these models but what relationship does a 240C/280C have to a C211??

I always thought the C's were a completely different platform.

Also, at a guess a 280k is possible but I've never heard of it!

What happened to the C210?

I'm fairly sure I've seen ID plates carrying that model designation but could be confusing the ID plate with the ADR plate.

The C210 is definately a model, unfortunately people seem to neglect and place everything from that range under C211, which is odd but hey, people do the same with the C111, classing it as a C110. They're only really facelifts so it's not a huge thing, but you would think it more appropriate to use C110 and C210 as opposed to C110 and C211.

I've never come across someone who places everything under C211 :S But yeah, that would be odd... by the way, the "1" actually signifies electronic injection rather than the facelift (hence why our facelifted C110s are still C110s)!

240C/260C/280C are not Skylines at all, and there was no such beast as the 280K. Crap like that makes you wonder about how accurate the stuff you look up (because you don't know about it) on Wikipedia actually is . . . .

While not as widely recognized as the C10 and C110, the C210 was an important model in the Skyline "family." It was the last Skyline to have the surfline. It was also the last to have a nickname - "Skyline Japan." And it was the last of the "C" series. All series following it were "R" series. Very few exist here in Japan anymore, because they were just not considered as valuable as the C10 and C110.

I agree with you Miles - while I don't think I'd ever own one as I think they're the "worst of both worlds", they were an important part of the evolution... I have heard people call the R30 "Newman Skyline", and then there's the "Iron Mask" Skyline, and of course R32 "Godzilla"/"Obakemono" ... ?
