December 11, 201212 yr comment_409020 They are alloy. They are the same panels, only with no wood grain skin. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20290-instrument-panel-modification/?&page=3#findComment-409020 Share on other sites

December 20, 201212 yr comment_409612 Your wood grain panel is brushed alloy underneath. Take a look at it first before you buy one Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20290-instrument-panel-modification/?&page=3#findComment-409612 Share on other sites
December 20, 201212 yr comment_409621 Yeah I read about how to do it in this thread. Was just curious is the alloy underneath comes out as the brushed alloy or you have to treat it. Just building the knowledge base for future reference Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20290-instrument-panel-modification/?&page=3#findComment-409621 Share on other sites
December 20, 201212 yr comment_409628 Yep, it's exactly the same finish and all, it's just been coated in wood grain. The only issue in a lot of cases is corrosion on the alloy. This is mine after I stripped it with nothing else done.
