I did look at the one on Ebay. I called the dealer that is selling it and they gave me some BS about how they purchased the car as "eye candy" for thier show room. It does seem like a nice car except that it is a automatic.

What else do you know about it? By the way, is it red or orange?

My mistake (I am color blind).....the car is in fact orange. They bought it from some guy in Allentown PA who did not know what he really had. I think the Allentown guy owned it since new. I think it sold for around $4K to the dealer. The car is is the exact same condition as it was sold except for a full-on detail. I am not sure what the dealer means by "restored" I think this car is actually a "survivor". I was considering it vice the one I got....but I had already paid $200 down on mine and I did not one to stiff the nice seller.....but I like this one better. This orange car will require you to buy a new set of SU carbs. It was easy to register the PA car in CA.

In my experience, it is much easier to find clean 240Z automatics than sticks - the automatics seem to have had an easier life. Swapping a 240Z from automatic to a manual transmission is not very difficult. I did it on mine, and wrote a tech article for this site on the process.

That is a great point that I never thought about before. After thinking about; you are so right.

No bad a bad profit margin for them.....E-yikes.....I could have had for $4K. Those wheels covers are not factory originals although they may have come with the car. Since they want $14K let's move on to another car.

If you find a possible candidate in Arizona, consider where it's garaged/parked. There are a number of places and cities in Arizona where it snows alot and they salt the roads, those same places get rain throughout the summer. Ideally you'll want to find a desert car.
