Hey everyone,

I've got a quick question. What do you think about the right column (or bar) on the main page? Does it clutter and make the main page too busy? Should we keep it or get rid of it?

If you want to see what it would look like WITHOUT the right column, take a look at the following link: http://www.classiczcars.com/modules.php?name=CZCC_Home

My goal is to help clean up the main page and put things inside the website. Of course, by doing this, I need to make everything easily accessible and that will come with time. For now, I simply need to know what you think about killing the right column.

Mike,

While killing the column results in a MUCH cleaner look, the change resistant part of me likes it where it is. Then again, maybe the way to find out is to track the use of the links represented on the main page, and move those that are not a part of almost every visit. There is a good reason for a top desk drawer...I will be happy either way, but moving it and mixing up the deck does make for a cleaner look.

I'm with Will!!!

IMHO:

I like the 'halo' top navigation, thats a good look. The left side flows as well, we are all used to the left menu/navigation scheme. It will look cleaner if you take away the right side. I could do without "system messages" and "mini stats" on the left side, and then you could put in the stuff that you wanted to keep from the right into those spots on the left. If its not a menu item, it needs to be updated regularly, or it is ignored.

Again, IMHO.
