73 on Ebay. Toughts?

Came across this nice 73 lastnight. The exterior shots certainly make the car look fantastic, but the engine and interior shots could be better. Wonder what the underside looks like. Any thoughts on how high this auction might go? I've been away from the Z world for awhile.

I'm not certain if it'll bring this much or not, but I'd be surprised if the reserve wasn't at least $10-12k. It would cost a lot more than that to recreate it. As always, the big question is the "R" word. (Rust.) One would hope that they had a solid car to add all that to, but you never know.

At first glance it looks like a nice car. But look at the strut bolts in the engine bay, rust. What does the undercarrage look like? If it's a solid car with minimal surface rust then 10-12k would be a good price.

Just look at the Quater windows and tell me if it has been painted or if some one realy went through this car right. How about the data plate rust on 2 rivits but just a little on the other sie???? Looks to mer as this car may have been painted in the last few hours. Who knows could be a great restored project with 70,000 miles on it...

When the seller states "complete respray, including jam's, hatch, etc."... then shows pictures of the mess left in the engine bay - it should raise a large RED FLAG.

The car might be worth $5K at this point... but IMHO it's already been bid up why who knows who - to well above it's value. Private Auctions are an invitation to join in the fraud as far as I'm concerned.

In my opinion, no one that knows anything about 240-Z's would give this offering a second look.

I would want to check it out in person-or have someone local who really knew about the cars check it out. It is too easy to hide problems in the hidden areas of photos, The car is worth a trip to see if it is worth the money...

Here is another one...

A 9 year old appraisal for Stated Value insurance purposes does not cary much weight in my book.

With all of the variations from stock, I don't see that the car would bring that kind of money, in the fourth from the last picture, the dash looks to have a cover on it...and I would want some upskirt action(what is usually covered by side skirts). Still a pretty car with nice mods...
