Murph Posted June 14, 2006 Share #26 Posted June 14, 2006 Those are what I have on my Z. Can't seem to find them over here anymore. Four years ago when I got the current set on my zed they were apparently out of production and stock was low. Today I just asked in the tire shop if they had anything in that size...totally didn't expect they'd still have some in stock! Buy Them! Those tires Just plain rock. I have no clue why Yokohama discontinued them. They are a lot softer than the tires we've been talking about here. I'd class them with the Azenis sports in tradwear and traction. I've also be hugely impressed with them. Just huge amounts of grip. Through some twisty roads my zed just slaughters some of my mates MUCH more powerful imports. I've got some quite good mileage out of them too. Not sure of the exact figure, but it'd be going on 30k km. Not bad for a soft tire and the way I drive it. Do you own that Awesome Yaki Cedric? Man! that's the gansta lean! Sure do....and I love it! The avatar is just a photo shop lowering job. It's still totally stock as is, but it's in excellent condition for its age. I've only owned it a few months now and wont be touching it till I'm ready to do it properly. The plan is to turn it from this, into this. Similar anyway. zguitar71 Posted June 14, 2006 Share #27 Posted June 14, 2006 Just curous, have you actually verified that your speedometer is right? I assume that you have, but thought I should ask the question...As you pointed out, the 190/60 14" tires are 590mm OD vs the 620mm of the "stock" 190/70 14" tire, that would put the actual distance/speed at 95% of the registered speed (the speedometer would read fast).Since you quoted the gear ratios, I assume that you have changed the speedometer drive gear in your transmission, but if others didn't know to do that...I never go by the speedo, I use the tach. I found my speed with a GPS unit. The speedo will be farther and farther off as the speed increases with smaller tires. I actually have a 3.7 speedo cog in the trans, I bought a 4.11:1 cog to get closer to the actual speed on the speedo. At 80 the speedometer reads 92 rightnow. BuDavid Posted June 16, 2006 Share #28 Posted June 16, 2006 I'm riding on SUMITOMO 225/60's, I choosed that size for the exact fit width by the closest original hight, 205's are si thin according to me and if they are by 60 they'll be lowe and stiffer than the 225/60. and you'll spin the wheel more if the radius is smaller which (may) give a bad reading on your speedometer! (not definately sure about the last part ok, dont attack me:))

Datsun_Mike Posted June 30, 2006 Share #31 Posted June 30, 2006 I just bought some 15x8 wheels and I need some opinion on tire size. The wheels also have a 0"offset on all 4. I'm thinking 235/50/15 all around with spacer b-cuz I'm also gonna be trimming and adding ZG Flares. I need help on this one. Would 245/50/15 on rear and 215/50/15 front be a good choice also? I'm also be putting on some Tokico 5way Adjustable with again (???? undecided springs). I've been debating it for quite some time now. Wide tires makes car look very manly!!! agemeansnothing Posted June 30, 2006 Share #34 Posted June 30, 2006 I would go with a pair of Perelli tires, and for rims I like mine I will put them in my gallery, black rims studded with black knock offs.
