No wiper blade action

My windshield wiper blades have completely died..The worked sorta at first..Very sporadically at best. And then the would start a swipe and then slow to a crawl..Now there is no movement at all. i've checked the fuse and its ok..what do I try next?

I'm 90% sure it is sure wiper pivots. They get filled with corrosion and eventually seize.

Have a look under the technical articles where kmack has posted an outline of the fix.

note: when you put the wiper assembly back together make sure you test it before bolting the wipers arms back on. It is easy to put the assembly together incorrectly so that the wipers scrape down across the bonnet instead of the up across windcreen.

Akir-ra.

I've been searching for some info on wiper motor problems and came across your post. Since it has been so long since you posted, I guess that you've sorted out the problem.

My wipers are very slow to move, I'm convinced it's the wiper motor in a sad state. I have removed the motor tonight and will pull it to bits tomorrow and have a gander. My bet is that it is probably stuffed full of 30 years of gunge/crud and crap. Looking at the wiper arm pivots all I could see was dust clinging to what is left of some grease.

What did you find?
