Hey everybody! This is my 1st post.

Are there any issues (due to the fuel maybe) with ceramic coating the inside of an intake manifold?

Sorry for questioning you motives, but I'm just wondering what you hope to gain. The intent of ceramic coating is to shield heat, correct? Heat isn't an issue on the intake side. I guess I can understand coating the outside of the intake if it is for appearance or to help deflect heat away, but the exhaust manifold, or headers, is more common to ceramic coat. Sorry if I'm just dense.:stupid:

Actually I plan on doin my headers. The reason I'm asking is because the SU manifold (my Z came with webers) is kept roughly the same temp as the coolant through the connections & cooler, denser air blah blah blah (we all know the advantage). I have 2 cars with the intake & exhaust on the same side. My spitfire has a cat right there & the intake manifold can burn you even with the heat shield

If you are worried about intake temps that much here are a few cheaper/more effective ways to ruduce heat...

-take the coolant lines off the manifold! I never had them connected on my Z and it always started well!

-make a bigger/better heat sheild then the factory one

plus coating the inside of you intake manifold would reduce air flow wouldnt it? The port sizes will be smaller and may have a rougher surface then factory. So for all the trouble you went through, you may actually be doing more harm then good...

There are no hoses on my manifold. I have triple webers. It has a heat shield but it's just thin sheet metal. I don't know how effective it is. I have to make a new 1 or wrap the top anyway cuz I just got a heade. Thanks guys.

I have triple 48 dellortos 3.1 motor and loadsa power,i had my manifold ceramic coated,worked well but then decided the heat sheild looked crap so took it off,now suffers from vapour lock and have to let it cool down for about 20 minutes,also a few nore flat spots whilst driving so best keep the heat sheild,its only for a short while in my case as i am fitting throttle bodies so should run a lot better when done
