I know that this subject is here many times, I did the search, but I need a simple and clea answer,

what are the advantages/disadvantages of Urethane bushings over the rubber ones?

is the bushing kit from VB good to buy? coz shipping from them is easier than MSA for me..

thanx

Urethane-no shock absorbtion, rubber, too much shock absorbtion meaning rubber gives a cushy ride, and Urethane gives a harsh ride. A mix of both makes for a comfortable well handling ride, all urethane gives a very precise but harsh ride. Don't forget Ebay, I picked up the set for $135 shipped.

I second that, most of my front end is urethane. It is very stiff and I feel everything in the wheel. Can't imagine what it would be like if it were a daily driver, but weekends are a lot of fun.

then I would deffinitely go to rubber bushing! I dont like the tough ride, guys its a japanese car, it is light, if u make it stiffer u shake the hell of it!

maybe a mixture would work since i can use the urethane in some locations where there is no direct stresses, like the control arms bushings?or I'm totally wrong now?:)

thanks for the explainations guys..

If you're looking for the best performance with the least maintenance I would suggest Delrin bushings. It's not widely used so finding premade bushings may be difficult for older cars but it provides a fairly smooth ride without the deflection of rubber and doesn't require grease like the urethane. Bar stock can be found on Ebay and any machine shop with a lathe can mill it within specs!

I have the MSA urethane bushings for my entire front end and the mustache bar in the back and I really like it. It does ride stiffer but not a lot stiffer. The steering wheel is also a more lively but it gives better road feel and I definitely wouldnt consider it annoying.

Just an FYI though, make sure you put a lot of grease on the mustache bar bushing or they will squeak, they squeaked VERY loudly in my case LOL.

I hear a lot about this topic. I am not looking for a luxury ride out of my 240z, but I don't need it to be any more rough than it already is.

I see urethane bushing kits all over the place, but never the rubber bushing kit.

Where does one get all the rubber bushings needed?

Would I need to buy those one at a time from the dealer?
