Posted June 28, 200618 yr comment_172664 dealing with a 72 240Z here....when taking apart the rear suspension for coilover install, i decided to re-do the wheel bearings as well. when taking off the nut that holds the axle in place, the two were diffrent sizes (driver side vs pass side). also, the axle spline/companion flange are different sizes as well (driver side companion flange wont fit on pass. side axle, vice versa). is that supposed to be like that or was an axle replaced by a po? if so, how can i tell which was the origional??? June 29, 200618 yr comment_172669 HI, Yes there are some changes at late 260 and up....240 was a smaller nut/less splines....be glad you caught the differences....shouldn't be a issue.David Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20586-different-size-axle-nuts/#findComment-172669 Share on other sites
