IGNORED

difficult cranking

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Am currently putting the Z back together as it needs to be moved again. Its been sitting for almost 3 years in the garage.

Upon leaving, I didnt prep it for storage as I didnt plan on being away for so long.... Yep poor form. Anyhow, I read up on post storage procedures, and came to turing the engine over by hand. When I have no spark plugs in, it turns over just fine, using the socket wrench. When I put the plugs back in, I am getting major resistance at certain intervals/spots! It doesnt feel like a mechanical/hard resistance as it gradually gets tighter throughout the rotation, then easier again.

These point/s of resistance have also prooven too much for the starter.!! Yes smoke from starter solenoid is bad juju.

Took out plugs again, still turns freely when cranked by hand, cam is turning good, etc. There is plenty of oil as I oil preped each cylinder and let sit before cranking. Only thought is a different set of spark plugs???

Any ideas >?
