Posted July 2, 200618 yr comment_173068 has anyone used this type of product for the interior of the Z? Go to this link half way down on the page. http://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/109/html/3240.html . For that price I can do the whole inside of the car. Also I read that their damping sheet are the same spes as Dynamat. July 2, 200618 yr comment_173086 You might post the number of the item in question. There are several items on that page.I used Q-Pads by Evercoat which are an asphalt based sheet with adhesive over the POR I painted on the metal. A friend used Brown Bread, another Dynamat. Different products, basically same function, dampen the harmonic vibration of the sheet metal, which reduces the sound transmitted through the metal.FWIWE Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20630-vibration-damping-compound/#findComment-173086 Share on other sites

July 2, 200618 yr comment_173096 I think my first question about 9545T1 is whether it's water-proof once it dries...otherwise with the first spill of anything that has water (coffee, soda, ...) you're looking at a gooey mess.Otherwise it sounds ok, but I've no experience with it, either industrially or with cars.Sorry couldn't be more help.Enrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20630-vibration-damping-compound/#findComment-173096 Share on other sites
July 2, 200618 yr comment_173101 It's only good to 120 degrees too. Makes me wonder if it can stand up to a baking hot summer day in the sun. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20630-vibration-damping-compound/#findComment-173101 Share on other sites
July 2, 200618 yr comment_173105 Good point. A car can easily get to 120 degrees F when it's in the sun, even when it's not extremely hot outside. July 3, 200618 yr Author comment_173192 It's only good to 120 degrees too. Makes me wonder if it can stand up to a baking hot summer day in the sun. That's true, it's already hit 98 degrees here in NC. So it's 120+ in a car.
