Anybody know how to re-key the cylinders to have a matched 1 key set or where to buy a set so I can have a one key set. I have four keys one for the igniton, right door, left door, and hatch. Having to search for the right key is getting really old.

Depending on the amount of wear in the tumblers, you should be able to get them re-keyed by a competent locksmith. If they are too badly worn for that, MSA lists a complete set keyed the same in their catalog - but hold on to your wallet, as I recall the kit is almost $600!

Arne is right. I went to the local locksmith and he re-keyed my Z. One key fits the doors and ignition and one key fits the hatch. Nice!

Contact your local Nissan dealer and see where they refer their work to.

I agree, a "competent" locksmith is the answer. I had mine done by a locksmith that I know and that has been working on automobile locks for the last 40 years. He smiled when I proposed that he work on it. To him it was a blast from the past, and he enjoyed every minute of the experience. The cost to you should be generally for "time" involved, as there isn't very much in the way of parts. Find someone that's been around for a while and enjoys their work.... That will be the most gentle on your wallet.... (Whew!! About $600. for OEM!!! !ouch!)

That's it exactly. I went to "Clydes Locksmith". They are into the 3rd generation of locksmiths. Opened in 1936. He actually went into his 'vault' and came out with new door/lock covers. He said he had had these for 30 years. He was proud to do the job and was interested in my restoration. Maturity is a wonderful thing!

It is a lot easier to get information and help with your car if the members here now what year and model we are talking about. Early 240s had two keys one for the doors and one for the ignition switch. The key blanks are different depending on the year and series.
