Tomorrow or Tuesday... I'll glady give my take on it afterwards!

Saw it the day of release. Movie was pretty good, but, be prepared for a childhood fantasy. I'd say it's more like a "modern" childhood fantasy. I enjoyed that part because I was a child when the TV cartoon was in the US and it really took me back.....

They mixed some of the old school racing from the TV series with a very cool 3D track and some nifty cars. The cars were much more futuristic. Most of the movie was spent on the track, but, there was an excellent (my favorite) cross country race in the middle of the movie. This is where the real fighting and smashing came around -- and where Speed was able to use his forward mounted saw blades!!!

I liked the movie as a whole. It was just like the cartoon, but, IMHO it had a lot more jumping and faster tricks. Be prepared to see it a few times because, while the movie is a long one (over 2 hours), it goes by quickly. It can be hard to follow at times because the action is so quick.

The choice of actors was spot-on. Speed's expression while he was behind the wheel was just perfect. Trixie was cute and had HUGE eyes.... I think they found a good way to bring a cartoon into a human form. Racer X was very cool and you could tell there was a lot of work done to keep the original theme of the cartoon.

I believe the movie has been rated somewhere at 3 out of 5 stars. I won't even try to compare my rating with that, but, I liked it more than that.

If you're prepared for a fun movie that will bring back your childhood, then definitely go see it..... You'll have a blast.

I just saw the review on CNN headlines. Looks like no academy awards and hopes are to retrieve the production costs.

Saw the movie Sunday and was suprised that i really liked it.. There was even some applause from the crowd at the end. The only thing i did'nt like was the Spritle Giving the finger to the evil corperate guy. I read speed did 20.2 million in it's first weekend and cost like 120 million to make.

I'm 40 and watched Speed Racer everyday after school with my buddies than we would play

ball untill dark. Speed Racer and Dodger baseball life was so good back in the days of a 10 ten year old.
