Fairlady Z Up For Auction on Ebay!

Recommended Posts

I just want the twin-turbo set-up, oh dear god.

I have a twin and a single set up just like it in the ol garage....no plans on using it or currently selling them. I am going to go up to LA this weekend and check this car out.

Hey Montezuma, let us know what you find !! Can you take photos? The ones on his ad are kind of dark.... We should get this guy to post an ad on the classifieds if he doesn't sell on Ebay.

Made an appointment to see it Saturday morning. I am taking my friend Joe who was stationed in Japan for 16 years. During his time in Japan he fixed up over 20 different Fairladys. Joe says it is a good car it is a good car...BUT if he says it is crap then it is crap. I am looking forward to seeing it. I will do my best to take some pix. The price is getting up there now, it is up to $9.6K.

Here's a Fairlady Z in Japan if you want to get a feel for what prices over there could be: http://www.kaizousha.com/details.php?carid=364

Importation is not a problem. Any car over 25 years old doesn't need to meet EPA or DOT standards. You check off the first box in the HSV form and they release you right there. Shipping to Cali should be a couple thousand I think if you get onto a container with someone else.

I've looked into something like this in the past, but the prices are way too high compared to here just for the steering wheel on the other side. I contacted that company in Japan if they have access to other ones for less. They can get more, but the prices in Japan are high like that. They seem to be pretty rare over there. This one on Ebay looks nice, but I think it will sell for over $20k easily.

I know this car,

This was Les Cannaday's right hand drive Z that he sold three years ago. Its current owner paid about 8k for it then. It needed floors and a hatch back then (which are provided by the current seller). I have driven in this car several times, ant it was always a good runner. A good friend flew down from northern california to drive the car to Vegas for the National Z convention in 2001. This car has good bones and with a little work can be a great car.

I suspect that 20k is close to the reserve price, but dont really know for sure. I do hope that the car goes to a good home, and is restored correctly.

It's still at the $9,600.00 figure with 29 bids and over 4 days left at the time of this post. I didn't realize the demand (and value) was so high for these! Here's the link the guy added the other day with the extra pictures (mostly parts):
