Posted July 8, 200618 yr comment_173819 Hey guys,New to the board and to Z cars. My future father in law and I just bought a 72 240Z to bring it back to life. Is there a good source for replacement floor pans or do you have to make them?Any information would be great. I must say that this looks like a nice message board with tons of info/data. Well, got to go start the tear down!Thomas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20711-floor-pans/ Share on other sites
July 8, 200618 yr comment_173821 Welcome. Lots of help available here. So much so, that it's worth learning to use the search feature to find answers to common topics like this.Best buy on floor pans is at Zedd Findings in Canada. Go directly to the horses mouth! Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20711-floor-pans/#findComment-173822 Share on other sites

July 8, 200618 yr comment_173825 Welcome to the club! You'll find much information available to you that's been written by many members going back several years. For that you'll need to use the "Search" feature, there's both simple and advanced. Look in the very center of the blue band just above the chalk drawing of the Z and you'll see it.The Feature is quite advanced and allows you to combine words into phrases or for individual value. Here's the search for "Floor Pan", which yielded 219 posts:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/search.php?searchid=264600Here's the search for "Replacing Floor Pan" which yielded only 20:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/search.php?searchid=264602Not trying to give you the bum's rush, but trying to help you with the TONS of information we've managed to compile here. If you started reading today, and did nothing but read, you'd still be here in a couple of years. So, don't think of this as a rude brush-off, rather, think of it as a helpful insight into the wealth located here.By the way, Charlie Osborne is where you want to go; his web-site is:http://www.datsunzparts.com/You can try many things, or even think you can buy them cheaper elsewhere, but you will find that the majority of Z owners will refer you to him right away when it comes to floor pans. In fact, he sells them to the major re-sellers.FWIWEnrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20711-floor-pans/#findComment-173825 Share on other sites

July 8, 200618 yr comment_173833 I need to replace my support rails, at first I was going to find someone to weld up some supports but couldn't find anyone willing to touch frame work. Maybe with actual replacement parts...and for that price, my goodness, life is good...Check out my offroad z photos to see what I mean:cry: bad PO:finger: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20711-floor-pans/#findComment-173833 Share on other sites

July 8, 200618 yr Author comment_173848 Thanks guys,The search option slipped my mind. The last couple of forums I joined had a horrible search engine. Its great to know this one actualy works! I'll research the pans, thanks for the links. We spent the last couple of hours breaking bolts! We are going to order bushings and I need to research coil-overs. I would like to start from the ground and work my way up.I did a quick sketch of what the car will look like when its all said and done. I can post it if anyone wants to check it out/give feedback. Thanks again for the help.Thomas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20711-floor-pans/#findComment-173848 Share on other sites

July 8, 200618 yr comment_173888 I can't believe that you type slower than I do, Will! I didn't think that was possible!I had gone to do what Enrique did, but had a wee service interruption(wireless connections don't like VW bugs with hopped up ignitions)-but I don't type all that fast either. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20711-floor-pans/#findComment-173888 Share on other sites
