June 26, 200222 yr comment_9472 If you are talking about black interior door panels, I think you can still get them new from Nissan for about $155 each. MSA should have them also. I would check with Courtesy Nissan in Richardson.http://www.courtesynissan.com/Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2075-i-need-some-70-model-240-door-panels/#findComment-9472 Share on other sites
June 26, 200222 yr comment_9476 Contact Andy Russel at 480-217-7322 or e-Mail him at z@datsundude.comHe sells the original 70-73 Interior Door Panels, in the original format for $255 a pair. That price includes the clips and receiver plugs. You can't beat that price ANYWHERE.I bought a set from him and they are perfect.Enrique Scanlon Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2075-i-need-some-70-model-240-door-panels/#findComment-9476 Share on other sites
June 26, 200222 yr comment_9478 I know Andy. He's a good guy. I am sure that his prices are for black. They are Nissan panels, with the backer board. However, you could buy them and use SEM vinyl dye to make them butterscotch. I have a blue interior, which is impossible to find door panels for. I used SEM and you can't tell which was an original panel from a dyed one. It has held up great after 4 years use.You can get SEM at some parts stores or an auto paint supplier. If you go that route, email me and I can send you some good instructions.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2075-i-need-some-70-model-240-door-panels/#findComment-9478 Share on other sites
June 26, 200222 yr comment_9479 Michael,SEM goes on like a spray paint. If you follow the process that I have, it will penetrate and bond with the vinyl. I painted light blue over black and had no problems at all covering the black.Email me at marty.rogan@motorola.com and I will forward the instructions to you.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2075-i-need-some-70-model-240-door-panels/#findComment-9479 Share on other sites
June 26, 200222 yr comment_9486 Since I was looking for Black at the time I got them, and he had black, I didn't inquire on other colors. That phone number I gave is for his business, leave a message if you don't get a hold of him directly and he'll either call you back, or if you leave your e-mail he'll contact you that way.The SEM or even the Eastwood Vinyl Paint will work very well. The key to this is preparation. Since you would be working with NEW panels, you wouldn't have years of finger grime and silicone protectants to clean off before you could paint. As to the panels themselves, they are complete and ready to install. They include the felt wiper for the window, the metal backing, the washer trim around your lock mechanism, the silver trim. The only things they don't include are the window cranks, door lock handle, the escutcheon, Grab Handle. I'm sure that if you bought them, and painted them, you would be extremely pleased.
