Just to mention another option, I recently came across the company Just Dashes (5941 Lemona Ave. Van Nuys, CA 91411 (800) 247-DASH). They were highly touted on a Porsche 944 website for dash work. I have had no work done by them personally, and would be interested to hear if anyone on this site has traded with them. I did phone them - cost for a 240Z dash is $880.00 as of 8/06.

I see that my last post is somewhat confusing.

I had a dash restored, the job was done, but not well, appropriate cleaning measures were not taken before the cover was put on-that is to say the foam was corrected well, but the debris from forming it was not cleared off the dash before the covering was applied resulting in several irregulatities in the surface. My dash was among the first several they did, and their quality should have improved. I have never heard of any issues at all from the Australian company, but there have been several threads on many different forums about similar issues to those I had. The did have very good response time to reacting to other issues, but the quality of the restoration was not what I expected.

These guys have been doing zed dashes for awhile now. I have seen their work on a concours 240z here in NZ and it is excellent. Many NZ zed club members have used them before and no complaints only praise.

The cost to get mine done was NZ$795 and freight. They strip the dash, remove any crap foam, insert new foam, epoxy the whole dash so it can't crack again then vacuum shrink new vinyl and fit guages.

Check out Steve's website, it has a currency converter too. The only thing your American zed owners to consider is the freight issue. That will be the killer decision for you as this could nearly cost the same as the resto work.

I just put one on my 70 dash. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. I took my time clamped it down in lots of spots. Took a heat gun every day to help it fit better over a week then glued it on. Looks great. The only thing I do not like is when you open the door you can see the side of the dash and the place were the cover ends. Other than that it looks good.
