Thought I'd ask around here to see if any of you fellow Z'ers possibly have any extra 77-78 hood vents that you may be able to sell. The drivers side one on my hood has one corner that sticks up as you can see in my photo. It's driving me nuts The heat/age finally got to it and the plastic piece broke which is common on these so I'm sure I'm going to have a hell of a time finding one. MSA offers those new style alternative ones but I'd much prefer the factory ones if I can find them.

I'm also interested in some. Mine are currently just some cut to fit pieces of steel with vents cut in them.

I don't think the OEM ones are really available anymore, but if you find a source please share.

Yeah, I know they are no longer available If I have no luck finding a good factory set, then I may have to look at getting the ones from MSA

Every now and again a set will go up on ebay. I've been keeping an eye out myself cuz my drivers side one has 2 slats broken out.

Did you try just getting a used hood in good condition at a local junkyard or from someone parting out a 280? Plenty of hoods on ebay... Nice picture by the way very clear what kind of camera do you have i assume its a digital...( dont mean to change the subject)

As you can clearly see, my Z is in mint condition. I don't need or want an extra hood laying around just for one vent. All she needs is a replacement vent, have the body shop paint the replacement vent, bring it home and install it and done. If the availability became that bad for the factory vents that it required getting a whole hood, I'd just settle for the ones MSA has.

On the camera question- Of course it's digital I have an Olympus D-540 Zoom. Bought it about a year ago and I'm very happy with it.

yea, I was gonna get an olympus but the nikon was on sale im happy with mine also. of course this was 2yrs ago but $200 was alot at the time ...

The same thing happened to mine. I put the superglue to the test - perfect, after a couple of tries. I have seen them on ebay several times, if you are patient you'll find them.

Not my auction, but here are a pair. Myself, I need the drip pan/guard or whatever you call it as I have a later 280Z hood missing that piece on my Series I with the vents. Seems kind of pricey to me based on past auctions, but maybe they're getting pretty rare.

That is pricey, I've seen them for twenty bucks (buy now price) and I don't know if they were sold.
