dashboard and console

Don't mean to beat a dead horse but I wanted to bring up the dashboard restoration again. The USA dashboard restorations quoted me $575 to do the dash and if I do it at the same time $195 to do the console ($250 if I don't). I have read the previous threads/debates on the USA vs Australia groups and now have some reservations about the USA group. I get the impression the quality is up to par. Any thoughts? As to the console, I purchased a replacement from MSA a couple of years ago and sent it back because of the quality (flimsy, some other blemishes). Thanks again.

If I recall correctly, all the experiences with the US outfit posted here are a couple years old. It is possible that their quality has improved in that time, but the only way to know is for someone to give them another try.

For what it is worth, I had my roadster dash restored by the guys in Washington state just last year. I am very pleased with the results. It looks brand new to me. I may not be as discriminating as other members, but I paid $600 and am happy with the job they did. FWIW.

Andy;

Thanks for your input on the work done for you. I am with you and Arne on this one. The only reasons I have not driven my dash down to them is money and sequencing of the refresh/restore on my car. I will see how things go through the winter and go from there.

Since you are nearby you could always drop by for a visit and see if you approve of the quality of work they are doing on some dashes they have in the shop. I got the sense they are a pretty small-time operation, so you may want to be sure they have some work to show you before going over there. But the customer service and communication with them was good.
