I've now got a pair of non-working clocks too. The new one is better looking than my original one, so it is a better candidate for repair.

The clocks actually work in these? Mine never has at least not in twenty years.

When I took my clock apart last weekend, it seemed to move freely, once I gave it a nudge. So, I put a drop of sewing machine oil in there and I've crossed my fingers that it will work again, once the dash goes back in. Mr. Scanlon says his has been running 4+ years since lubing his.

I am sure mine will run again too once I give it a nudge and oil it.

I did the nudge and oil thing on the first one, and it would run for anywhere between 6 and 20 minutes until it stops again. For this latest one, I think I may send it to Mr. Scanlon and let him do it - he may have the touch. (Or maybe it's just that he has better oil than I do.)

E says sewing machine oil. It is as light as you easily find. Although mine was vintage 1958. Seriously.

Send away, they're fairly easy to get running.

Do you need it calibrated?

If so, I need help in finding a good adjustable power supply. I have one for 12V, but I'm afraid I need 13 or even up to 14.5 to match battery voltages. The clock gets fed pretty much directly from the battery.
