July 16, 200618 yr Author comment_174810 I've now got a pair of non-working clocks too. The new one is better looking than my original one, so it is a better candidate for repair. July 16, 200618 yr comment_174812 The clocks actually work in these? Mine never has at least not in twenty years. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20817-my-second-240z/?&page=2#findComment-174812 Share on other sites
July 16, 200618 yr comment_174815 When I took my clock apart last weekend, it seemed to move freely, once I gave it a nudge. So, I put a drop of sewing machine oil in there and I've crossed my fingers that it will work again, once the dash goes back in. Mr. Scanlon says his has been running 4+ years since lubing his. July 16, 200618 yr comment_174819 I am sure mine will run again too once I give it a nudge and oil it. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20817-my-second-240z/?&page=2#findComment-174819 Share on other sites
July 16, 200618 yr Author comment_174821 I did the nudge and oil thing on the first one, and it would run for anywhere between 6 and 20 minutes until it stops again. For this latest one, I think I may send it to Mr. Scanlon and let him do it - he may have the touch. (Or maybe it's just that he has better oil than I do.) July 17, 200618 yr comment_174827 E says sewing machine oil. It is as light as you easily find. Although mine was vintage 1958. Seriously. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20817-my-second-240z/?&page=2#findComment-174827 Share on other sites
July 17, 200618 yr comment_174828 Send away, they're fairly easy to get running. Do you need it calibrated? If so, I need help in finding a good adjustable power supply. I have one for 12V, but I'm afraid I need 13 or even up to 14.5 to match battery voltages. The clock gets fed pretty much directly from the battery.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20817-my-second-240z/?&page=2#findComment-174828 Share on other sites
July 20, 200618 yr comment_175318 Hi Arne,Its looks like a blue car in the pictures. Has it got a blue or black interior? If blue and in good shape, I might be interested in some of the interior parts.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/20817-my-second-240z/?&page=2#findComment-175318 Share on other sites
