zbane Posted July 18, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 18, 2006 was that a B 210 that passed you on lap 2?Also, what was that red lovely that shot by towards the end?Another question-what was that thing on your windshield, the light I am assuming was a shift indicator, but what else does it do? Just curious
Alfadog Posted July 18, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2006 That's a yellow P510 (sounded great too!). The red beauty was another Z OH unless you mean that Cobra thing Cool video!!
zbane Posted July 18, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 18, 2006 Open mouth, insert foot.It didn't sound/look like a cobra, IMO. I thought it might have been a little Italian job (Fiat, Alfa) or a Datsun Roadster. And yes, the red Datsun was truly a lovely, as well.
EricB Posted July 18, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 18, 2006 Have to agree that has to be a little Alfa or Fiat... I'm thinking an Alfa Spider... That's definitely the sound of a little Italian 2L 4cyl I'm guessing. Certainly not a Cobra - for starters it's way to small and you would recognize the V8 as it drove by.On the windshield that looks like a GTech Pro meter......aahhh good old Thunderhill... Man I miss that place... Haven't been there in like 6 years... Still looks like a great track though.-e
Alfadog Posted July 19, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2006 OK OK Guys, my sound card isn't working at the moment - no, really!! :stupid: Definitely not a Spider or a Datsun Roadster though. Both are not that curvaceous. More like Austin Healey but the tail lights are too high. Think I'll just wait until lww replies.
lww Posted July 20, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted July 20, 2006 The yellow car was a very fast 510. The little red number is an Austin Healy Bugeye Sprite. It's setup as a full race car with full road race slicks and it weighs about 87 lbs... It was ridiculous when I was trying to follow him in a different session. He has a complete disregard for the proper racing line. It just doesn't matter to that car. The flashy thing on my windshield is indeed a GTech Pro RR. I didn't realize it was right in the middle of the frame until I downloaded the video from my camera when I got home. Also, someone stepped on my panoramic mirror so the cool peripherial view I wanted was reduced to a small reflection of a part my helmet.
Ron Carter Posted July 20, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 20, 2006 looked like you were having fun. Your gearbox and possibly your rear end gears were not set to run that track...as demonstrated by that yellow 510. I have to get up there with my 2000 roadster....I can go after that little bugeye sprite and teach him a thing or two about racing Datsuns R
cremmenga Posted July 21, 2006 Share #9 Posted July 21, 2006 That little red car is an Austin Healey Sprite indeed i saw one at the car show here where I live this weekend, its not a 428ci cobra thats for sure! Here is a pic of a similar one. thanks for the vid!! VERY NICE!!!!!

That 510 is in a completely different class and has a boat load more power and significantly more beefy brakes. I was completely out of brakes by turn 9 on the first lap and everything after that was managed purely by momentum and engine braking... :stupid:
