I'm currently looking into getting my L28 engine rebuilt with my recently restored triple mikuni carbs. Due to my work schedule, I'm unable to put into the amount of time as I wish, yet I'm posting this thread to get an overall response of who is a reputable L engine rebuilder in SoCal... your help is appreciated.

I work with a great guy that builds my race motors here in San Diego. He did a masterful job with my roadster U20 race motor, and has been building reliable rast motors for us for over 5 years.

i've heard of rebello racing and top end performance. has anyone delt with these companies? any recommendations?

Rebello is known for building very fast ITS motors from back in the day. they still build a solid street motor, I know Dave Rebello and have friends who have motors from them. I think they can be a little pricey and depending on what you are looking for, their might be some better options locally.

I have been to top end and have seen positive and negative posts on this site. I would be a little wary of them, only from what I have read and not from personal experience.

I trust John Coffey's advice and I have had good luck with Les Cannaday...hope that helps.

i have an L28 bored and stroked w/triple 44 mikuni carbs for my 1977 nissan skyline. i've noticed that the previous owner had done his own work and raced the car in drag, but it seems like it never ran correctly. i figure to invest and get it done right since i've invested a lot in the body, paint, etc...

if anyone has any input on the companies mentioned, please provide your input.

i'm uncertain of their prices, yet also important is quality... if anyone want to through their imput, its high appreciated.

My suggestion at this point would be to call them and see what you think.

Just remember, good quaulity doesn't come cheap!

classic datsun in VISTA is a good place not to bad with the whole price thing, and great work. They just did a L28 for me.
