Ed Posted July 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2006 I'm wanting to put a large 2-4' vinyl letter Z on the side of my trailer. I went to a sign making place today and this is what I got. To make the digital image would cost $30. Each letter which will be 28" x 28" and cost $70. Custom color add another $20.I've never done anything like this so my question is, should I keep shopping for a better deal $70 seems a little high. And if I did do this would anyone else interested in something similar or smaller? Maybe get a volume discount?
hls30.com Posted July 18, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 18, 2006 Check google, I am pricing some "involved" graphics for my trailer, and your pricing sounds pretty high for something so simple...If you are going to use the "Z" script from an emblem, just scan it, clean it up if necessary, and download a rashter to vector converter, that will convert the image to a mathematical formula so it can be resized as you see fit with no loss of resolution. Most Sign cutters who know what they are doing can convert almost any file type to what is native(or useable) in their software. Will
Carl Beck Posted July 18, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2006 Check with a couple other Sign Companies... "Signs Now" here in Clearwater charged me $28.00 each for two static cling, vinyl signs - 24x24"... of the IZCC's three color Logo... actually it was Red and Blue ink on a white vinyl.... As I recall they charged me about $30.00 to take my .jpg image, convert it and blow it up to print.I wanted static cling, so I could easily install/remove them from the front fenders of the Z.. I would think that regular vinyl decals would cost less.. I'd keep checking with other sign companies...FWIW,Carl B.
