7240z Posted July 19, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2006 Hey guys! I'm in the process of installing the interior of my 72 240z and I was wondering if these seats had any significance? They were already with the car when I bought it. I'm really curious about the signatures on the back rest. I checked the net and haven't found anything close to it. Can anyone tell me if the seats mean anything because I just ordered the original patterned upholstery. Thanks guys!Ez

Montezuma Posted August 2, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 2, 2006 I don't think the signature is of anyone important in the Z world. The good news is that you can just remove those old covers without damaging them and put the new OEM ones on problem. Who did you buy your seat covers from? Good luck with your project and enjoy the ride....when its done of course.

Yeah I kinda figured that it wasn't original but I just wanted to know if I wasn't throwing away a good thing even though the design isn't my taste. They aren't seat covers. I showed it to a guy and he said the stitching looked spot on and couldn't have been done locally. Well here in the Philippines anyway! So here's a little clip that i did a few months back... hope you like it http://ezpa.multiply.com/video/item/
nealkeith Posted August 7, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 7, 2006 I tried to restore a BMW 2002 1974 model in Jakarta Indonesia, (I lived there 10 years), this was before DHL. I had total hell trying to get parts in country. How is it there?
7240z Posted November 10, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted November 10, 2006 I know how you feel. Engine and Suspension parts are easy to find in Manila but the details are giving me headaches. If you still need BMW parts those are easy to find and cheap! I noticed you have a 88 BMW M6? is that with the 3.5 or is the displacement bigger? We have a 89 735i. One of the best engines!
