DeesZ Posted July 23, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2006 I read a recent post form xxjoeyxxeb that has a link to a video he made asking us to listen to his z-car engine. I clicked on it to check it out (I agree, a valve adjustment sounds like it is in order). The reason for this post is that I suggest you go to the website, do a search for "240Z", and check out some of the videos that are there! There are a lot of 'tire toasters' with their V-8 conversions, but beyond that, some VERY interesting material.... even some with a historical twist to them. Here's a link to one of the several videos that I really enjoyed - "Then And Now-Z Generations Battle" It will get you to the site where you can do a search after you watch the 'battle' (interesting results!) This is one of those sites where just about anybody posts videos about just about anything - be prepared to spend a bit of time there.... enjoy it. NurseLaura Posted July 23, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2006 Truly an amazing spot on the ethernet for Z fans! Loved it! Thanks!
Alfadog Posted July 23, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 23, 2006 That was one of my favourite Top Gear bits... however, I believe the 260Z was a little bit modified I like this one http://youtube.com/watch?v=abqJ9Hc9l90&search=240zg Check out the author's other videos too. KPGC10, KPGC110 and more...!
Ron Carter Posted July 23, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 23, 2006 Since you brought up the subject, here is my Datsun Roadster at Fontana about three weeks ago.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sr2ePl0OD0
TomoHawk Posted July 24, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 24, 2006 I tried that search, and I found a video where they compared the speeds of the different generations of Zs, from 240Z to 350Z, and they assumed the 350Z would walk away from the others..... The 260Z beat the 350Z, and all the others. but the 300ZX turbo.
Chino 240Z Posted July 24, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 24, 2006 Yo Ron,Very cool, maybe next year I'll have to give your group a try. If you have any more video cuts send them our way, we have FIOS (fiber optic internet) so down load is a blink! Do you have the finish of the race I was reading about on WCZR? oh hey, OTR will have their first 2 day weekend event instead of on a Wed. Sept. 9th & 10th, which will include a race on both days too. We'll be there.Z-ya.Craig
zbane Posted July 25, 2006 Share #7 Posted July 25, 2006 Perhaps my ears are misleading me, but I swear Clarkson says "the 1980 300zx..." While it certainly was a second gen 300zx, it certainly wasn't from 1980. Still very cool.
Alfadog Posted July 25, 2006 Share #8 Posted July 25, 2006 He says "1980s" Clarkson is actually a reasonably large fan of S30's
Ron Carter Posted July 25, 2006 Share #9 Posted July 25, 2006 Craig here is the photo finish at Fontana. It's very short. I beat out Hector and his Z by 100th of a second at the line. It was a great race and Hector is a great competitor.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isqDH4UrViI
=Enigma= Posted July 26, 2006 Share #10 Posted July 26, 2006 That's awsome Ron! I'd love to see more. Seems like maybe you need a spoiler for your camera.
Ron Carter Posted July 26, 2006 Share #11 Posted July 26, 2006 Yeah, I am working on the vibration thing...this was the first time out with the video camera and there are some things we can do to stabilize it a bit more. hopefully it will look better next time.R
