Congrats Ken. Good to see you finally get a ride. It looks to be in very good condition for the most part. Don't tear it apart right away. Fix the things that need fixin' and drive it for a while before you start getting anal about everything and tear it apart. :)

Enigma- LOL Of course, of course I want to get to know the lady be for I put my hands on her; But on a serious note I really need to practice my shifting skills I know how a little bit, I just need to get use to the Z's unique pattern.

ZBane- It has the twice pipes set up it looks like the one off MSA(not sure tho).

I dont think its like the one in the thread you posted, aren't those the dual exhaust that has a pipe on both sides? Eitherway its a bit loud, but it sounds great (I just love that old car sound).

Thanks guys for all the information you have fed me I mean i didnt know crap about Z's I didnt even know a 260z existed 4 months ago ( LOL now I own one; I still dont know jack about Z's, but jack is more than crap). Without this site I probably would have wound up with a Z in way worse condition or even that Z that I saw in nothern virginia that was on ebay; the Rust bucket. Anyway thanks guys and Mike the Site admin. for creating this environment also known as the Z forums.

Unique pattern? What are you talking about? It's a standard 4spd with an H pattern and first in the upper left, isn't it? Or did you somehow luck out and get the special race tranny with 1st on the bottom?

Its a '84 200sx tranny, and what I mean by practicing shifting skills is actually learning how to shift period( I think i said in my first post that I didnt drive her yet my dad did because I'm not too keen on shifting right now, so i have no idea what pattern it goes in and wont be able to find out till next week)...:)

If it's an 84 200SX tranny I doubt that it would work properly in a Z because it would be slanted to match the 84 200SX engine. If it is a 200SX tranny then it's probably the 'dogleg' type that was in the 77-79 200SX and the 77-80 510 (A10). I have that tranny in my 64 L320. I don't know how good it would be for a Z since it was designed for a L18-L20B 4 cylinder. And the shift pattern would be 'unique' when compared to a Z-ZX 5 speed.

Driving a stick is easy. You'll get the hang of it in no time at all. Starting on a hill when you're learning is the hardest part but can be made much easier by making proper use of the handbrake. I'm sure you'll be banging gears with the rest of us in no time. :)

You are right about hills( glad we dont visit martinsville anymore one word Hilly)

I dont know maybe the guy left a typo or didnt know what tranny he put in he told me via e-mail and on his ad ( couldn't in person he's in texas) that it was a 200sx tranny and was replaced because the original "I still have the stock transmission pieces, but the synchros were shot. 2nd and 3rd ground. The 5spd I installed I pulled out of a working car I parted out, and I know its in good shape." - Sellers words. Maybe he meant its a 84 300zx or a plain 280zx who knows well find out once we get under the car soon and I'll post some pics.

That's a funnny observation there buddy. :) I like it because it has the name of the city where I purchased it in a script font that looks cool, for a manhole that is.
