Wiring connector??

Hi all-:)

Please help me identify and find the wiring that is missing here.

It is on a 1975 280Z -manual tranny-that is completely stock. The 8 pin connector that is shown in the pic comes from the wiring harness on the passenger side engine frame rail. From the FSM wiring diagram on Blue’s site, it appears that it has leads that go to the starter, alternator, neutral switch, back up switch, and oil pressure switch. There are other connections used –not used---depending on whether or not it has a manual or auto tranny. What is this piece of the wiring harness called and where can I find one?

The car belongs to a friend of mine that did a restore, lost the part, and hasn’t started the car in 3 years.:(

He would really like to get it up and running as I am sure you can imagine.:surprised

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! :D

Thanks.

Jim D.

That connector should hook up to the engine sub harness. There is usually a round bracket the bolts to the engine mount that the sub harness side of the connecter is held in. This harness has the oil pressure sending unit wire, and goes back to the transmission for the backup and neutral switches. Some later 280z's had a top gear switch as well. It may also have some wires to the alternator but I can’t remember off the top of my head.
