I am looking for some mirrors simular to what MSA (attached pic) sells but made of metal. All I have found locally is made of plastic and feels cheap. If anyone could point me to a supplier or if you might have a pair for sale, that would be great.

I have never seen those mirrors in metal, I have those exact mirrors from MSA and they don't feel cheap.

They look very much like the original Racing Mirror Sets sold via the Datsun Dealers Parts Dept.... They came as either a set of Mirrors - or they were included in the Datsun Rear Window Shade Kits. They were metal, but they were actually pretty cheap as well. While they do look good on the first generation Z's... they really don't have enough angle adjustment to make them really useful, while at the same time being positioned for looks.

I second what Carl wrote. They were on my '77 when I bought it 4 years ago--the passenger mirror was hanging against the side window, the driver's side got that way a couple months later. I figured out a way to "rebuild" them so they stay in place, but they didn't have a lot of adjustment. The passenger side is just for looks now.

Are the Racing Mirrors an original Nissan item?

I have the racing mirrors on my car, but like the original chrome mirrors better. If the racing mirrors are original I might keep them though...

I recently tore those things off my car after the glass in the driver's side unit broke. The PO added them and I found them mostly useless, although they did look pretty good.

I ended up tossing them since the finish was ruined from the sun - if I'd seen this post a couple weeks ago I could have sent you one just to see if you liked how it looked on the car.

Nils - If they're genuine Nissan Racing, they were still dealer added, as far as I'm aware, so they weren't a "factory" item, so to speak. I also prefer the chrome flag mirrors - I need to get out and find a set, since I don't have any side mirrors at the moment.
