Posted August 8, 200618 yr comment_177526 Hey guys, i just put on my n42 head on my f54 block and im a lil worried that im not getting oil to the valvetrain. This happened to me before back in march when i installed this head. Since then i had the head checked out and repaired. Now i have installed one of the older type head gaskets 77-78... i didnt see any significant differences between this and the newer ones (F54 81-83). My head has both internal and external oiling, but when i started the car (without valvecover) i could not see oil flaring up like i would with my p79 head. To those who are running bother oiling systems, at idle are you getting any visible oil when running at idle? August 8, 200618 yr comment_177532 I was under the impression that only coolant holes had been added, you may want to check your oil pressure for a too high/low reading. I even had the head reconditioned to make sure the casting of the head was okay...
