Posted August 9, 200618 yr comment_177701 Hello all. I just got back from sydney on the weekend and found this. I don't know what year it is, but has the twin lever choke set up. The car itself I have been told has not turned a wheel in 15 years and the guy who owns it stupidly won't depart wih it. unfortunately I think it's stuffed due to lack of care. August 9, 200618 yr comment_177703 seems VERY dead.....fixable if u have a lot of money and time! but the rust on the roof and throughout looks shocking...to the point....if it has the choke and hand throttle levers, it is probable somewhere around 1971....Huw Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21116-240z-in-sydney/#findComment-177703 Share on other sites
August 9, 200618 yr Author comment_177705 Unfortunately it's not only the roof. I think nearly every panel had rust including the floors as when i put my foot on the passenger floor all i heard was a crunching noise. Just a waste of a car Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21116-240z-in-sydney/#findComment-177705 Share on other sites
August 9, 200618 yr comment_177708 That's what happens when you park a car under pines and leave it for years uncovered. What a shame. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21116-240z-in-sydney/#findComment-177708 Share on other sites
August 9, 200618 yr comment_177709 Hey, It was covered. Look at the plastic on the ground, the owner tried at somepoint to protect it. Thanks to his continued efforts, there is another parts car where a roadworthy Z should be. August 9, 200618 yr comment_177724 Hmmm... I can see some parts there I wouldn't mind. Can't believe the owner wouldn't part with it, does he think it will be self repairing one day? August 9, 200618 yr comment_177728 Geez, it's well and truely cactus huh. Difficult to see how someone could let it get that bad when they walk past it every day. August 9, 200618 yr comment_177800 My guess is that will have a low vin somewhere between 500 and 1500. There is a similar car (HS30-00634) in NZ with the hand trottle. I always thought that they were only put in the series 1 but it appears that the RHD export and JDM HS30's got them in the first releases of the series 2. August 9, 200618 yr Author comment_177804 260zed. I think that you'll find that the guy would'nt care. The funny thing is though is it's only 10 metres at the max from his front door. I contacted him last year to see if he would sell it, and nearly had him convinced until he backed out. I reckon he probably thinks the car is worth money, as I ended up talking to someone this year that offered to buy the car 10 years ago when it didn't have rust in the roof, sills etc and was repairable. Who knows what he thinks?.Curtis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21116-240z-in-sydney/#findComment-177804 Share on other sites
August 10, 200618 yr comment_177837 That's a real pity to see. It looks to be pretty straight and complete. Why do people just park these cars outside like this to rust (rhetorical question btw ) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21116-240z-in-sydney/#findComment-177837 Share on other sites
