240z in sydney

My guess is that will have a low vin somewhere between 500 and 1500.

There is a similar car (HS30-00634) in NZ with the hand trottle. I always thought that they were only put in the series 1 but it appears that the RHD export and JDM HS30's got them in the first releases of the series 2.

Don't get confussed with the LHD Series I and the cars that came to our part of the world - I have seen a 240z here in NZ with a build number in the early 800's with a hand throttle. I assume Nissan was using up the parts in a transition phase. RHD production dates below so that would make a Series 1 in our RHD cars upto at least May 71 (were as in the US the series 1 were long gone by then). When I had HS30-00016 it had seat belts with a 70's date on them + dates were around this early/mid 70's and this was the HS30-00016 (still had plug leads with 1970 on them too)

240z=HS30(A)(U)(Q)

That is a dead duck. "His Holeness" my (now cut up) 73 parts car from the Solomons was in better shape than that. But there are bits on it that are worth money.

The body on my car was bad and cost more than $15K to get to the stage it is in. But compared to that, mine was mint. I wouldn't even consider it for a rebuild as it's too far gone and not really of any historical value. What it would make is a good candiate for someone wanting to convert a LHD to RHD. But I'd say that the firewall will be shot by the looks of the amount on pine needles in the photos.

Bumpers, glass, window regulators, hand throttle, carbs, plastic, struts, all the bits required for a LHD conversion. But what is it worth??? No more than $800~1000. Phone up your local scrape metal dealer and ask what they will give you for the shell, over here we are getting money for old shells the price of steel has doubled. We used to have to pay them to take them away.

I'll buy the left hand rear bumper extension off you if you get it and want to part with it. Plus a door hinge spring.
