my first 240z

Hello again. After having the 240z for 5 months I finally got some pics. I'm only 17 and look forward to restoring the z. It is currently at the panel beaters (he does hot rods so i know its definately in good hands but the price will kill me, but it's worth it). I am restoring the car back to original as it's the 213 car built according to the history. The only different things I plan to do is put a nice set of mags on it, and a cd player. I plan to paint the car the original orange and put the original 5sp back in as well as all the other bits and pieces. I also own a 260z to that is being fixed up as an every day driver now.

Its very reassuring to see that more of you younger guys are into these old Z cars. Shoot, alot of times some of the younger car guys aren't real sure what a Datsun 240Z is, let alone recognize one! For sure you guys have an eye for the old school sexy lines of the Z and are not the typical fashion followers of todays sport compact crowd. Very happening I must say!!! I've owned my 240Z for 23 years and its just as appealing now as the first time I saw one back in 1970, when I was senior in high school. Oooops, I'm dating myself!ROFL

Congrats. Make that the 213th RHD car to be made.

Did that stamp say "S30-" or "HS30"? Is that 213 or 223?

213th (223rd) RHD DATSUN 240-Z maybe? It is an A/T...<img src=http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/images/smilies/adminfinger.gif>

Just too funny.... by the way... is that 213 or 223? The image is a little fuzzy..

Carlbeck. The car is originally a manual so it does match up. The number is

hs30 213. The car was not an automatic but was put in by the previous owner, as the car looks like it was to become a drag car. thankfully he lost interest and I plan to restore the car close to original as mentioned. If you look at the pictures you will see that the car has rear vents and no holes in the steering wheel, where as all z's after the first 500 that were sent to Aus had holes in the steering wheel, and the vents were moved in to the quarters and had z on them, where as mine originally had the badge saying 240z. For more information if you would like, type under google the z shop which is in Australia which will show the history for all z's sent to Australia.
