Posted August 11, 200618 yr comment_178094 I have a missmatched set of tires 2 Pirelli 195/70SR14 and 2 Dunlop 185/70SR14 one of the dunlops leak so I was looking for a good deal to replace all 4 on ebay. First does anyone know what the S stands for?? these are the tires that came with it and it had been sitting since 1991. The Z is getting ready to get on the road and I need to replace the tire. I was looking at sets on ebay and I cant find anything exactly the same size so I was thinking of going for a tire with a slightly lower profile(60) since those seem to be more available. What chages with the lower profile (economy, performance, handling, etc...) and are there any brands to stay away from. the ones I found are Falken and Kumho I havent heard of these but I dont really know tire brands. August 11, 200618 yr comment_178159 Try Tire Rack. They are very helpful and ship it to your door. I was looking for all-season performance radials. Having decided on Yokohamas for the back and Sumitomos for the rear, they suggested BFGs all around. Couldn't be happier.www.tirerack.com Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21152-tire-size-changes/#findComment-178159 Share on other sites
August 12, 200618 yr comment_178174 sakijo's got it right-tirerack would be able to sort out all the issues with you, like usage, speed rating, tread type, etc. Why deal with an unknown ebay seller when you have a staff of professionals to call upon?$.02davidPS-I have Kelly Chargers on my ZX, but I have Continental (front) and Hankook (rear) on the Beamer.Search the threads for tires on this forum and see what others are running, if you want some really good suggestions for your model.
